Linda's Page

Welcome to Linda Ulleseit's page!

My YA historical fantasy novels are available on Amazon. They include flying horses that compete in annual Aerial Games, and a medieval Welsh town deep in the mountains. They also have young adults with very contemporary problems: growing up, making your own decisions, deciding on a boyfriend, battling past demons, and finding your future. If you are interested in the flying horses, check out my website. You can also follow me on Facebook, Twitter, and Goodreads.

My newest novel, UNDER THE ALMOND TREES, is historical fiction, set in California in the early 1900s. It features three pioneer women working for women's rights; a suffragette, an architect, and a photographer. It's even more special that these three women are ancestors of mine! I am so proud of them.

I also have a completed picture book for older students (4th-6th grade) called XAVIER'S DESK MONSTER. I need to find an illustrator and I will self-publish it. Hopefully this will be the first in a series of picture books about experiences I have had teaching elementary school.

My first published work was the short story "ROAD TO SANDAHL" from the anthology A VISITOR TO SANDAHL  edited by C. Lee Brown. I also contributed another story for a new anthology, RETURN TO SANDAHL. This is an exciting project because it involves collaborating via the Internet with authors all over the world.  My new story is titled "ROARK'S RAIDERS" and follows the brother of the main character in the first story.

In addition to all this exciting writing, I have a blog that reviews YA/MG books and talks about teaching reading and writing. I also post student work, and you don't have to be a student of mine in order to have it posted! Check out BOOKS, BOOKS, BOOKS.
